At the 13th Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) and the Asia Pacific Peoples’ Forum on Sustainable Development 2026, APTN worked together with fellow civil societies demanding reform of the status quo in development governance, financing, and multilateralism for just development.
Since 2022, APTN has proudly represented the LGBTIQA+ Constituency of APRCEM. This role has enabled APTN to coordinate with constituency members, ensuring that the diverse voices and perspectives of queer communities are heard and integrated into discussions across APFSD, the Peoples’ Forum, and other intergovernmental decision-making spaces on development issues.
This year, APTN, as LGBTIQA+ Focal Points, together with 16 other constituencies, co-convened over 100 civil society representatives at the Peoples’ Forum on 22–23 February under the theme “Resist, Reclaim and Rebuild,” and participated in the 13th Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development from 24–27 February under the theme “Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for a sustainable future for all.”

Together, we reflected on the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda in the region, centering Goal 6 (clean water and sanitation); 7 (affordable and clean energy); 9 (industry, innovation, and infrastructure); 11 (sustainable cities and communities) and 17 (partnership for the Goals), exposed systemic development challenges, and amplified our collective demands for Development Justice. APTN reaffirms our commitment to amplify LGBTIQA+ voices in these spaces and to advance collective calls for equitable, sustainable, and just development frameworks and actions.
