This Privacy Policy outlines how the Asia Pacific Transgender Network Foundation (APTN) collects, uses, and protects your personal data in accordance with the Thailand Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). We are committed to ensuring the privacy of our network partners, participants, employees, and consultants through secure data processing and clear communication of your rights.

What Information Does APTN Collect

APTN only collects information necessary for our operations. This may include:

  • Contact Details: Your address, email, phone number, and emergency contact information.
  • Financial Records: Bank account numbers and copies of bank books for processing payments.

Why APTN collects these Data

APTN processes data based on legal requirements, contractual needs, or our legitimate interests in improving our services. Key purposes include:

  • Operations: Running workshops, trainings, and projects.
  • Research & Communication: Conducting surveys, preparing reports, and sending newsletters or publications.
  • Legal & Financial: Fulfilling tax activities and complying with official orders from authorities.
  • Promotion: Advertising our missions and events on social media or our website (with your consent where required).

How We Protect and Share Your Data

Data Retention

We generally store the information of members, participants, and partners for up to 10 years after the completion of the relevant event, project, or workshop. APTN will not use the data for any other purposes outside of the originally consented purpose.  

You can request to delete your personal information by contacting the Asia Pacific Transgender Network Foundation (APTN) directly to exercise your right to erasure. Under this right, you can ask that your data be erased, destroyed, or anonymized.

When You Can Request Deletion

According to the policy, you may request the deletion of your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • Withdrawal of Consent: If you decide to withdraw the consent you previously gave for data processing.
  • Lawful Objection: If you have lawfully objected to the processing of your data.
  • Unlawful Collection: If your personal data was obtained unlawfully.

Please note that APTN is entitled to reject your request if they have specific legal grounds to retain the data. Additionally, for any personal data collected before June 1, 2022, you must specifically contact APTN if you no longer wish for them to collect or use that information.
