During the WHO Sexual and Reproductive Rights Month, and on International Safe Abortion Day, APTN gathered representatives from six trans and gender-diverse people led organisations to build capacities and strengthen the delivery of SRHR programmes centering trans and gender-diverse people in the South and Southeast Asian regions. - Trans Masc Alliance Pakistan,
- Unity for Change Nepal,
- Trans Men Collective India,
- Changing Seeds Sri Lanka,
- Trans Equal Thailand, and
- Beyond the Identity Cambodia.

The two workshops focussed on themes of menstruation and abortion respectively, such as :
- Menstrual Rights and Advocacy – The first workshop shared rights-based and fact-checked information on menstruation, and supported participants in translating learnings to actionable advocacy strategies.
- Menstrual Health and Management – It also imparted tailored information on menstrual management for trans and gender-diverse folks, including product use, menstruation and HRT, and more!
- Diverse Abortion Needs – The second workshop facilitated discussions on navigating abortion and related needs in the context of experiencing gender incongruence/dysphoria, the different reasons trans and gender-diverse people may need abortion services, and emphasising each need is valid.
- Different Abortion Methods – It also contained Introductions and specific information on abortion methods; including medical and surgical variations.
- Barriers to Abortion Access – It facilitated exploration of the different barriers that exist within the health system, and a discussion of the barriers that uniquely affect trans and gender-diverse people, such as discrimination and gatekeeping.
- Advocacy Strategies to Expand Abortion Access – SRHR services including abortion access should be for everyone; and while systems are not perfect currently, movements and governments can and should work together to make them affirming and accessible!
